The Timok gold project is a sediment-hosted gold deposit located in the central-eastern region of the Republic of Serbia. The Timok deposit was discovered in 2008, and DPM’s work to date has outlined a Proven and Probable Mineral Reserve estimate of 0.8 million ounces and a Measured and Indicated Mineral Resource estimate of 0.7 million ounces of gold.
In February 2021, DPM announced the results of a pre-feasibility study and commenced a feasibility study on the Timok gold project. Given the potential of the new high-grade discovery at the Čoka Rakita prospect, which is located approximately 3 km south-east of Timok, DPM is pausing further work on Timok to focus on Čoka Rakita.
From the beginning, our activities in Serbia have been guided by sustainable development principles and take any potential environmental impact into account. We apply a comprehensive approach to environmental protection with care for the air, soil, water quality and biodiversity. Our main priority is to ensure the health, safety and well-being of people and communities.
All exploration activities are performed with strict control to the way we work, collect, transport and deposit waste material from exploration boreholes. Exploration sites are immediately re-cultivated and restored into their previous state.
Following Serbian regulations, our work is guided by renowned consulting companies to meet EU and international standards. We use the capacity of Serbian certified laboratories and science institutions to support us in conducting research and monitoring.
